WHY ARE WE TESTING?
A NEW STANDARD
IN PLAYER DEVELOPMENT
The eleade Football Testing is a football-specific diagnostic developed in Germany, designed to give players an objective picture of their abilities. This is not generic fitness testing. Every drill, distance, and angle is grounded in research from professional football.
FOOTBALL-SPECIFIC
Every test measures skills that matter on the pitch, not just in the gym. Speed, agility, dribbling, passing, and ball control under pressure.
INTERNATIONAL BENCHMARKS
Your results are compared against players of the same age in both Australia and Germany, with country flags showing who holds each benchmark.
TRACK YOUR PROGRESS
Every test measures skills that matter on the pitch, not just in the gym. Speed, agility, dribbling, passing, and ball control under pressure.
DEVELOPMENT-FIRST
This is not a pass or fail. It is a diagnostic that feeds directly into individual training plans and long-term player development.

THE TESTING BATTERY
7 TESTS. ONE COMPLETE PROFILE.
A standardised battery combining physical, coordinative, and technical components. The same tests are used across all sessions, enabling reliable comparison over time and across continents.
01
SPRINT
5m / 10m / 30m splits
A 30-metre linear sprint with time splits recorded at 5m, 10m, and 30m using professional timing gates. Measures first-step acceleration, transition speed, and maximum velocity. Each split provides a distinct insight into different phases of a player's speed profile.
02
CHANGE OF DIRECTION
Acceleration / Deceleration / Direction Change
Assesses acceleration, deceleration, and changes of direction.
Players must accelerate over 15m to their highest pace to then fully decelerate, change direction and accelerate again.
03
DRIBBLING
Speed / Control / Decision-Making
Tests dribbling ability under time pressure while reacting to external stimuli to change direction throughout the course. Combines close ball control with rapid decision-making. The sprint lengths, direction changes, and turning angles are study-based.
04
PASSING
Technique / Accuracy / Decision-Making
Players respond to an external stimulus indicating where to play their next pass, all under time pressure. Ball control and passing technique determine the result. Requires players to scan, decide, and execute in rapid succession.
Passing distances and angles are based on the analysis of 1.1 million passes from the Bundesliga.
05
AGILITY
Acceleration / Deceleration / Direction Change
Assesses acceleration, deceleration, and changes of direction in response to an external stimulus. Players must react and adjust their movement path under time pressure. The sprint lengths, direction changes, and angles are all grounded in academic research.
06
BALL CONTROL
Coordination / Rhythm / Both Feet
Players must reach 150 alternating touches as quickly as possible while keeping the ball off the ground using both feet. Tests coordination, rhythm, concentration, and technical consistency under sustained effort. The benchmark standard is validated by German youth football research.

07
BROAD JUMP
Lower Body Power / Explosive Strength
A standing broad jump measures explosive lower body power.
Players jump from a stationary position for maximum distance. The result indicates leg strength and force production, both critical for sprinting, jumping, and change of direction on the pitch.

FAQ
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. Who is this testing designed for?
The eleade Football Testing is designed for players aged U12 and above who are serious about understanding and improving their performance. It is open to all players at representative level — NPL, JDL, or school football — whether or not they currently train with eleade.
2. What should my child wear and bring on the day?
Players should arrive in full football kit including boots, training shoes for any warm-up activities, and water. Please also bring any relevant medical information if your child has a condition our coaches should be aware of.
3. How long does the session run?
The testing session runs for two hours. Please allow time for arrival and registration beforehand.
4. What do we receive after the testing is complete?
Each player receives a detailed performance report covering all seven test components. Results are benchmarked against players of the same age group across Australia and Europe, with clear visual indicators showing where your child stands relative to each benchmark.
5. How are results benchmarked — what does "international comparison" mean in practice?
The testing battery was developed in collaboration with the German Sports University in Cologne and is standardised across sessions. Results are compared against a growing database of players tested across Australia and Europe, using age-group norms. Country flags in the report indicate which benchmark a player has reached or exceeded.
6. Can my child repeat the testing to track progress over time?
Yes, and we strongly encourage it. Retesting at regular intervals is one of the most effective ways to measure genuine development and to adjust training priorities based on objective data rather than impression.
7. Is the testing only for eleade training players, or is it open to anyone?
It is open to any eligible player, regardless of whether they currently train with eleade. The testing stands alone as a valuable performance diagnostic.
