We are able to provide an insight into the German Football System, its culture and introduce you to Coaches of respective Clubs.

Alongside the opportunity to trial with Clubs you'll have your assigned eleade Coach who will support you during the trial period.

Our 3-Step Process to Trial in Europe

Soccer training session

1

Scouting Period in Australia

Assessing you as a player and character is initially the most important part for the eleade coaches. First, we assess your technical, cognitive and coordinative abilities during our individual session.

Secondly, you complete a physical assessment with our strength and conditioning coaches which enables us to compare your raw physical data to our players in Germany.

Lastly, your tactical behaviours will be assessed through a detailed game analysis.

2

Trial Period in Germany

In Germany, a coach will be assigned to you, who will look after you during your stay and assist you with any football-related questions.

After arrival, your coach will organise all of your individual sessions (1 on 1, Strength and Conditioning and Mobility/Rehab) and make sure they’re planned according to the schedule for your trial sessions with the clubs.

Your coach will be guiding you on the trial days and give feedback on your performance after the sessions.

3

Successful Trial: Move to Germany

If a trial is successful and you, your family and your coaches decide to facilitate a move to Germany, the hard work starts.

Your eleade coaches will be with you along the way from helping you settle into the new city and day-to-day, plan your weekly training schedule and ensure you're at 100% for match day.

Why choose Us for Trials in Europe?

Eleade offers a unique pathway for Australian athletes to play and develop professionally in Germany. Through our extensive network of clubs in Cologne and the surrounding areas, we can place you at clubs that align with your individual skill level and your long-term development goals.

We offer an overseas trial, allowing you to showcase your abilities in a competitive environment, ensuring that you are placed in the most appropriate setting for your growth.

With access to multiple clubs, we ensure that athletes have opportunities for advancement based on their development and aspirations. This tailored approach ensures that players receive the best possible placement and support for their future in the sport.

The primary challenge of moving to Europe is not simply gaining entry into the club system, but having the ongoing support to stay, develop as a player and be successful. It’s also crucial to continually understand the evolving system.

With guidance from your eleade coaches, together you can make informed decisions about your career path as time progresses.

Pathway FAQ

1. What level does my child need to be at to be considered for the pathway?

This depends on the player's current level and age. Every player needs to be assessed individually — through game analysis and individual training sessions — before we can determine whether they have the level required to progress to a trial period in Germany. There is no fixed entry threshold; the assessment process gives us and the player's family a clear and honest picture of where they stand.

2. How do you select players for a trial in Germany?

Selection is based on a combination of our individual training assessments, physical testing data, game analysis, and the player's character and commitment over time. We assess the whole player — technical ability, tactical intelligence, physical profile, and mentality. Our coaches make a recommendation only when they believe a player is genuinely prepared for the European environment.

3. Which clubs are involved in the trial programme?

We have established partnerships with clubs and academies in Germany. Specific club details are discussed individually with players and families during the pathway consultation process, as suitability depends on the player's profile, age, and position.

4. What does the trial period in Germany look like day to day?

Upon arrival, your assigned eleade coach will organise all individual training sessions — including 1-on-1 technical work, strength and conditioning, and mobility — scheduled around your trial dates with clubs. Your coach will be present on trial days, provide performance feedback, and support you with any football-related matters throughout your stay.

5. What are the costs involved in the pathway programme?

The pathway involves investment across several stages — individual training in Australia, the testing and assessment process, and the trial period itself including travel, accommodation, and coaching support in Germany. Costs are discussed transparently during the pathway consultation. Please contact us at info@eleadefussball.com to begin that conversation.

6. What happens if the trial is not successful?

An unsuccessful trial is not the end of the road. Our coaches debrief thoroughly with the player and family, identify specific areas that need further development, and restructure the training plan accordingly. Many players benefit enormously from the trial experience itself, regardless of the immediate outcome.

7. How long does the entire process take from initial assessment to trial?

There is no fixed timeline — it depends entirely on the player's development trajectory. Some players are ready within 12 to 18 months of beginning the eleade programme. Others require longer. We will not push a player toward a trial before they are genuinely prepared.

8. Do players need to speak German?

No. Your assigned eleade coach is bilingual and will support communication throughout your stay. That said, a basic understanding of German is always an advantage for day-to-day life and for building relationships within the club environment.

9. What age range is the pathway programme open to?

The pathway is most applicable for players between approximately 14 and 19 years of age, which aligns with the key transfer and academy intake windows in Germany. Eligibility is always assessed individually.

10. Is a parent or guardian required to travel to Germany?

For younger players, a parent or guardian is strongly recommended and in many cases required. For older players aged 18 and above, this is a personal and family decision. Regardless of age, our coaching team in Germany provides full on-the-ground support throughout the trial period.
